UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland on Monday posted videos of a confrontation outside his Las Vegas home with a man he said committed domestic abuse.
Strickland can be seen in the videos pointing what appears to be a gun at the man, whose face is blurred out. Another video shows he and another unidentified man pursuing what appears to be the same man, whom he shoves to the ground and appears to hold him at gunpoint as lights flash in the background.
According to Strickland, the man was “drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off,” he wrote in the post’s caption.
“Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house. I initially thought he was stealing my car. … He was arrested.”
Below is the post with the videos.
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas police did not comment on Strickland’s post and told MMA Fighting a name search for him did not return any results; a records request for a police report on the incident is pending. The UFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The UFC champ on Sunday posted a Ring video of the confrontation that shows the man stumbling into a driveway and appearing to hide between two cars. Strickland can then be seen walking out to the driveway, and a verbal confrontation is heard.
Strickland also posted a picture of what he said was the man’s vehicle after the confrontation.
No stranger to confrontations public and private, Strickland often details his run-ins on social media. Just before he posted his side of the confrontation with the man, he clashed with UFC welterweight star Ian Machado Garry online over his posts about Garry’s wife.
Strickland is set to defend the middleweight title in January against Dricus Du Plessis, headlining UFC 297 on Jan. 20 in Toronto.
