Andrew Wiggins will not return to the Golden State Warriors matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night, per ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.

The forward suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter and it’s enough to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the game. Before the injury, Wiggins had two points and four rebounds in 19 minutes.

The Warriors are looking to extend their win streak to three games against the Hawks, who hold a narrow lead early in the fourth quarter.

This season, Wiggins is putting up a career-low 12.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, playing 27.2 minutes per game. The veteran’s scoring is down from last year’s 17.1 points per game, and both his field goal and three-point percentages have dipped this season. Wiggins has started recently for the Warriors, but he’s been in and out of the starting lineup this year, coming off the bench in 11 games.

While his production is down this year, he still adds value to Golden State’s lineup as a two-way player and the Warriors are hoping the injury isn’t serious.

The Warriors have dealt with a handful of injuries this season, with Chris Paul and Gary Payton II missing extended time. Now, it seems Wiggins could miss time.

While the Warriors have won back-to-back games, they’ve struggled this season, sitting at 21-24 on the season and are in 12th place in the Western Conference. Golden State’s star Steph Curry isn’t to blame for the down year, as he’s putting up 27.4 points per game, but it hasn’t been enough.

With the trade deadline approaching, the Warriors could be making some moves to try to get back into the playoff mix.
