Georgia Bulldogs will be going up against the Florida State Seminoles on New Year’s Eve this year. However, things have turned rather sour with FSU. The side was stripped of a playoff opportunity as the CFP moved ahead with Michigan, Washington, Alabama, and Texas. This came in as a shocker for the FSU as they stand undefeated during the ongoing competition.

Recently, the Georgian HC was asked about his opinions regarding the same in a candid conversation. Smart bared his heart out and could understand what his opponents must be going through. He said- “I mean I empathize with anybody that goes undefeated and doesn’t get in I empathize with our players. I mean personally, I feel like we deserve to be in…..So that works both ways and the good news is we got each other to go play and I know they’ll be up for us and we’ll be up for them.”

Smart has acknowledged that while the Seminoles were banking on getting a playoff spot, he’ll make sure their Bowl game against the Seminoles will be one to watch out for as well. As per the CFP committee, the main reason FSU has not been chosen is that their quarterback Jordan Travis had a career-ending leg injury during their game against North Alabama. Travis, on hearing the news, replied that he was heartbroken regarding the same.

FSU’s record is 5-5 all-time in the Orange Bowl right now, and while their play record for the season is better than the Bulldogs, given Travis’ injury, it looks like the Bulldogs may take away the victory this time. This might not be the match the Seminoles wanted after their undefeated season, but it’s the one they got. and now they have to make the most of this opportunity.
