“What a Sell Out”: Cormani McClain Faces Scathing Backlash After Dissing Coach Prime’s Colorado Program

When Cormani McClain declared himself for the transfer portal after spending merely a year at Colorado under NFL legend Deion Sanders, it shocked everyone except Coach Prime. The reasons were simple: the two parties weren’t compatible. Interestingly, McClain joined CU on the recommendation of his former coach, Barefield, after creating a lot of ruckus with his college draft. But this was just the beginning of what was to come.

On the other hand, Coach Prime clarified his stance on the issue while wishing good luck to the talented 5-star-rated kid from Florida. However, the late adieu from Coach Prime wasn’t enough, as Cormani McClain has shown his displeasure with the CU program on social media. The fans did not take it kindly, as the kid faced backlash for his rant.

Just days after bidding goodbye to Colorado University and Coach Prime’s staff members, Cormani McClain took to YT to post a message for his fans, saying, “I just want to be a part of a REAL program… I don’t wanna play for clicks” His message was an indirect jab at CU and Deion Sanders, accusing them of the unfortunate journey he had at the Buffs camp. However, it didn’t sit well with a fan who replied, “What a sell out looks like when things don’t go their way. He ran from the work and now is tryna shame Colorado” discrediting the accusations made by McClain on Deion Sanders.

Cormani McClain put out a YouTube video.

A few fans were quick to point out the flaws within the talented CB. One fan tweeted, “His work ethic is terrible. He got humbled, now he wants to try to find the easy way out. He’s barely mid. Smh 🤦🏽‍♂️” Another fan tweeted, “What he really meant to say is ‘I wanna play for a team that allows me to miss practice, not watch film, and ditch classes with no repercussions’” Another fan pointed out the lack of seriousness in McClain’s attitude, writing, “Serious student-athletes want integrity and discipline from their leadership, as well as a fair playing field to compete on.”

Other fans pointed out his behavioral issues as implicit in the video. One fan tweeted, “Then why is he making videos on the internet for clicks?” questioning his intentions behind the video. Another fan called him a runaway by tweeting, “Sounds like he wants to be a Seminole.” Another fan called out McClain by suggesting a hypothetical future, “Sounds like he’s hurt he couldn’t make the starting 11 on D. When Colorado wins big this year and the real program he goes to doesn’t, then what is he gonna say?” These reactions prove that fans are not in favor of McClain after learning another side of the story.
