Colorado got back on track with a win over Arizona State, albeit a narrow one, last weekend. The Buffaloes have cooled off after a hot start, but they find themselves just two wins away from bowl eligibility. Can they get one step closer with a win over Stanford?
LIVE: Follow Colorado vs. Stanford updates
The Cardinal have had a season to forget in year one under coach Troy Taylor, losing four consecutive games after a Week 1 win over Hawaii. Stanford fell to FCS Sacramento State, Taylor’s former employer, and recently lost to Oregon by the exact same margin Colorado did (42-6).
Stanford is searching for answers offensively, which should work to Colorado’s benefit on Friday night. While Shedeur Sanders continues to take a concerning number of sacks, he still has thrown only two interceptions this season and has passed for more than 300 yards in four of six starts.
Stanford has just three touchdown passes all season, so the advantage through the air goes squarely to the Buffaloes.
The status of Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter remains up in the air as he works his way back from a lacerated liver, but Deion Sanders said earlier in the week that there is a chance he plays. That would be a major boost to a Buffaloes secondary that he had some difficult moments in his absence.
