The Answerbacks are going to have their work cut out for them.
Arizona has often felt like it’s had its back against the wall this season. It trailed the Phillies 3-2 heading to Philadelphia in the NLCS. It slumped in back-to-back months in July and August that threatened its playoff chances.
But it now all comes down to this. The Diamondbacks fell on Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series 11-7 to fall behind the Rangers 3-1 in the Fall Classic. With one game left in Phoenix and two remaining in Arlington, the Diamondbacks cannot lose another game if it hopes to walk away from 2023 with the Commissioner’s Trophy.

The fifth game of the World Series will feature a rematch of Game 1 between Nathan Eovaldi and Zac Gallen. Neither pitcher was on his A-game, with Eovaldi allowing five runs over 4.2 innings and Gallen giving up three runs over five frames. The Rangers wound up winning the game, however, when after a game-tying homer in the top of the ninth, Adolis Garcia hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th.
