The long wait is finally over. For the first time since the Chiefs won Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 13, the NFL will be returning to live game action for the Hall of Fame Game.
The Browns and Jets will be squaring off in a battle of two playoff hopefuls to honor the induction of Cleveland great Joe Thomas and New York legends Darrelle Revis and Joe Klecko into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Of course, this is a preseason clash, so fans won’t get a chance to see Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson play, but there will be plenty of intriguing players taking the field in the preseason premiere.
For the Jets, third-year quarterback Zach Wilson will get a chance to start in the hopes of showcasing improvement from a disappointing first two seasons. New York traded for Rodgers during the offseason to replace Wilson, so the preseason will be the proving ground for the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
As for the Browns, they are planning to take a long look at their developmental quarterbacks in this one. Kellen Mond, a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Vikings, will get a chance to start as the 24-year-old looks to show off his mobility and stake a claim to Cleveland’s No. 3 quarterback job. After that, fifth-round rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a dynamic athlete with a strong arm, will look to do the same.
Cleveland also will be getting a look at its running back depth behind Nick Chubb. Kareem Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson are no longer with the team, so an opportunity is open for the likes of Jerome Ford, Demetric Felton, John Kelly Jr., Nate McCreary and Hassan Hall to jockey for positioning on a wide-open depth chart.
Indeed, there are many reasons to be excited about the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game. The result may not matter in the end, but the whole event is a signal that NFL football is back.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game, including when it starts and how to stream it.
What time is the NFL game tonight?
Date: Thursday, Aug. 3
Time: 8 p.m. ET
The NFL’s preseason Hall of Fame Game between the Browns and Jets will kick off at approximately 8 p.m. ET from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. Because Canton is in the Eastern time zone, the local start time of the game will also be 8 p.m. ET.

What channel is the Hall of Fame Game on tonight?
