What else can be said about the career of Novak Djokovic? He was already an all-time great, but in recent years he’s toppled more milestones than ever, including the most career grand slams won by an individual player and the most weeks spent as the world’s number one tennis player.
Djokovic is in Melbourne for the 2024 Australian Open, and if he retains his crown from the 2023 edition, will lift the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup for a record-extending 11th time — five more than the great Roger Federer achieved in his career.
The Serbian has also never been beaten in the final at Melbourne Park, a perfect record of 10 wins from 10 appearances. The next-best player with a 100 per cent record on that stage is Andre Agassi, who won the last of his four titles here in 2003.
With youthful contenders emerging and looking to lay down a marker in 2024 though, none more so than 20-year-old Spanish sensation and Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic knows that title number 11 at Melbourne Park won’t be a walk in the park.

Novak Djokovic’s Australian Open record
Djokovic’s record at this tournament is, to put it bluntly, sublime. The aforementioned 10 wins from 10 final appearances speaks for itself and will likely never be beaten — with the Serb more likely to extend that tally rather relinquish it any time soon.
He’s never been a losing semifinalist either, though did controversially miss the 2022 tournament altogether after being refused entry into Australia following his decision not to have a Covid-19 vaccination. That’s the only blemish on his record in recent years, winning three straight between 2019 and 2021 prior to his 10th victory last year.
