YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, 27, announced the surprise clash with the 57-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion out of nowhere, with no leaks or rumours before the fight was set.
A July date was announced, but medical issues with Tyson has seen it postponed.
He suffered a flare-up of an ulcer during a flight in May that left him dizzy and nauseous and requiring medical treatment.
While it was insisted that he had made a full recovery, further checks from medical professionals have insisted that a fight in July is too early to enter the ring where he will be 58.

Paul, whose second pro fight was on the undercard of Tyson’s exhibition clash with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, beat Ryan Bourland with a first-round stoppage in March and has now jumped straight into this blockbuster encounter.
Tyson was once one of the most destructive heavyweights and demolished most of his opponents with his knockout power.
However, ‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t been in the ring for four years and fans have voiced their concerns over this bout.

This clash was due to take place on Saturday, July 20 and it is set to be held at the 80,000-capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However, that has now been delayed with a new date due to be set by 7 June.
As it stands, it is still due to be a sanctioned professional boxing bout contested over eight, two-minute rounds.
Each fighter will use 14-ounce gloves, but no headgear with knockouts allowed. The outcome will also affect their professional boxing records.

He will take on Julio Chavez Jr, the son of former three-division world boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez.

Paul vs Tyson: What has been said?
On the postponement, Tyson said:
“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time.
“Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover.
“My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.

Paul and Tyson will clash in the ring in July
“Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”
Paul said: “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night.
“My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish.
“Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
Serrano, meanwhile, posted support for the rearranged event, writing on X: “These things happen in boxing and as sad as it is I’m with my team,” Serrano said of Most Valuable Promotions.
“Jake Paul and Nakisa [Bidarian, the co-founder] have shown me Nothing but love and respect and I’m not doing anything without them. We’re in this together.”
Before it was delayed, many people questioned the logic in seeing the fight go ahead given the age gap, while veteran boxing promoter Frank Warren, branded the fight ‘ridiculous.
He told talkSPORT: “Anyone with an ounce of brains knows that it is ridiculous…
“Let’s get it right, you can be on a motorway stuck in a traffic jam and you get to the end of it and all it is is people who have stopped to look at a crash and that’s what this is.”
