After Thursday’s action at the NFL draft, the New England Patriots are expected to make their next selection at No. 34 overall in the second round on Friday.
Teams will have guest announcers for picks throughout the weekend to excite the fans who are in attendance, and for pick No. 34, the Patriots will have offensive lineman Mike Onwenu make the announcement, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Onwenu, 26, is expected to be New England’s starting right tackle in 2024 after receiving a three-year, $57 million contract extension from the team this offseason. The Patriots drafted him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Michigan, and he’s exceeded the expectations placed upon on him since arriving in the league.

It will be interesting to see if Onwenu follows in the footsteps of past announcers and really lays out all of New England’s accomplishments before letting everyone know which player will join the team’s roster.
