Rumors of AJ Lee’s return to WWE have circulated amidst the WWE Universe since CM Punk’s famed comeback during Survivor Series 2023. Murmurs of her comeback have reached their pinnacle as SummerSlam approaches on the horizon. The upcoming PLE would emerge as the perfect time and place for the former WWE Divas Champion to return to the promotion. Her husband, CM Punk, is embroiled in a deeply personal feud where Drew McIntyre has even invoked the name of Lee. However, fans have to brace for disappointment when it comes to her WWE return as she looks to traverse a different path.
Wrestlers frequently have pursuits outside of wrestling, and it appears that AJ Lee has as well, since she is now focusing on another passion. Recently, AJ Lee and Aimee Garcia informed their respective followers that they will once again collaborate to make a comic book series. This will be a horror/supernatural comic book. The enigmatic duo have previously worked together for several projects including a GLOW comic adaptation.

Not only that but the book will be titled Day of the Dead Girl and will be the first of four parts in this series that will follow. The synopsis suggests a gripping tale that is sure to strike terror in our hearts. The series revolves around a protagonist who discovers that her homecoming won’t be as delightful as she expects when members of her mother’s coven start to be killed off one by one. The series’ name is pertinent to the tale as these eerie events start to occur in advance of the town’s Day of the Dead celebration.
Aside from this comic, AJ Lee and Aimee Garcia have written many other books together. Lee and Garcia aim to bring representation to Mexican heritage while delving deep into a rabbit hole of dark lore. This means the former Divas Champion will not have enough free time to compete in the WWE. This is not to say that she cannot make a surprise appearance right now. However, the chances of Lee’s imminent comeback appear slim but all hope is not lost. Her husband has proclaimed his desire to share the squared circle with his wife fueling rumors.
CM Punk wants AJ Lee to come back to the WWE
All inquiries concerning AJ Lee and her homecoming were asked of CM Punk. The Best in the World suggested that he wanted his wife to return to WWE TV. Punk was recently at a Comic-Con and was questioned about a hypothetical question about his wife’s comeback, to which he reacted both humorously and enthusiastically.
The Second City Saint said that he wanted to kiss his wife again on live television. He mentioned that he would love to accomplish something like this since it would mark their second stint in the WWE after they both achieved monumental success.
