With her gold-medal performance in women’s slopestyle, Mia Brookes also made X Games history, becoming the first woman to successfully land a 1440 in the event.

After taking a year off from competition, Chloe Kim showed the world that she’s still the rider to beat in women’s snowboard halfpipe.

Kim took gold to tie her mentor Kelly Clark for the most X Games SuperPipe wins. With victory secured, in her final lap Kim threw down a Cab 1260, the first time the trick has been done in women’s halfpipe history.

With Shaun White out of the field, the men’s snowboard SuperPipe discipline has predominantly been a contest between Australia’s Scotty James and an incredibly strong Team Japan, including Yuto Totsuka and Olympic gold medalist Ayumu Hirano.

But James prevailed at X Games to earn his third consecutive gold medal, which only White has accomplished previously.

James’ run included his signature switch McTwist back to regular, which he calls a switch McTwist rewind, a frontside 1440 and a switch backside 1260.
