WNBA All-Star skills participants: Full lineups for 3-Point Contest & Skills Challenge in 2023

The 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge have become solid parts of WNBA All-Star Weekend.

Both went away after 2010, only to return in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The formatting is identical to what the NBA does as part of its All-Star Weekend in the winter.

Here’s what you need to know about this year’s 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge during WNBA All-Star Weekend.

2023 WNBA 3-Point Contest participants

The league announced the participants of this year’s 3-Point Contest on July 13, and the field is wide open with Allie Quigley stepping back. Quigley won the 2022 competition for a career four-peat, becoming the first basketball player in either the WNBA or NBA to do so.

The rules for the contest are simple: Make as many shots beyond the arc as possible from five different positions. Oh yeah, and they only get one minute.

The three players with the highest score advance to the final round, which is played the same as the first, only in reverse order.

You can find the list of 3-Point Contest participants below.

2023 WNBA Skills Challenge participants

The league announced on July 11 that the format for this year’s Skills Challenge would be changing, opening the field to four sets of All-Star teammates. The eight athletes will go through a “two-round, timed, obstacle course, relay competition that tests agility, dribbling, passing and shooting skills.”

Because the event is being presented by Kia, there’s a special obstacle positioned on the course: a Kia EV6.

Each team will compete one at a time, and the two teams that finish the first round course the fastest will advance to the finals. In the event of a tiebreaker, whether to determine a winner or simply advancement, the tied teams will be required to rerun the course.

You can find the list of Skills Challenge participants below, taking the form of four teams: Team Aces, Team Dream, Team Liberty and Team Wings.
