The 2023 World Triathlon Para Series moves to Swansea, Wales, for the next race in the Paralympic qualification window, with six medal events, for men and women, across the various para categories. Racing gets underway on Saturday 15th July and extended video highlights will be available on TriathlonLive.tv post races. Race week also includes another edition of the international para triathlon conference, hosted by British Triathlon and attended by National Federations from around the world.. Race action in the World Triathlon Para Series Swansea will start on on the southern side of the Prince of Wales Dock. It’s a deep water start and para triathletes swim one lap of the 750m course. The para athletes will cycle from transition on the out-and-back section along the seafront promenade, before completing four laps of the city centre and returning to transition. The 20km course is largely flat but contains a number of technical sections that will test the athletes on Saturday.

PTWC Category
Paralympic and World champion Jetze Plat will be ready to apply pressure to the men’s PTWC field, which includes fellow compatriot Geert Schipper, Italy’s Giovanni Achenza and Frenchman Ahmed Andaloussi.
The women’s PTWC field is headlined by Paralympic silver medallist and World Champion Lauren Parker. Brasil’s Jessica Ferreira and Mona Francis of France will prove tough competition and set their sights on the podium in Swansea.

PTS2 Category
Jules Ribstein (FRA), Lionel Morales (ESP) and Wim De Paepe (BEL) are all top contenders in the men’s PTS2 race.
Australia’s Anu Francis will lead the women’s PTS2 field onto the pontoon in Swansea. Italy’s Veronica Yoko Plebani is also a favourite in this category and the race will be fiercely contested by USA’s Allysa Seely.

PTS3 Category
Nico Van Der Burgt (NED) is coming straight from victory in last weekend’s 2023 World Triathlon Para Series Montreal and onto the start line in Swansea this Saturday. Spain’s experienced para triathlete Daniel Molina will be vying for the podium in the men’s PTS3 category.
Elise Marc (FRA) and Sanne Koopman (NED) will go head to head in Swansea for the women’s PTS3 podium, Marc won gold in the 2023 Europe Triathlon Championships Madrid in June.

PTS4 Category
Frenchman and finish line showman Alexis Hanquinquant is the favourite in the men’s PTS4 category who will take to the stage in Swansea. Hanquinquant won gold in last weekend’s World Triathlon Para Series in Montreal. Australia’s Jeremy Peacock and USA’s Carson Clough will be ones to follow during the race. Clough secured a brilliant silver medal in Montreal.
Germany’s Elke Van Engelen is marked as a main contender in the women’s PTS4 contender. Emma Meyers (USA), silver medallist in Montreal, will be aiming for the top step in Wales and Camille Seneclauze will be among the para triathletes hunting valuable points towards Paris 2024.

PTS5 Category
Paralympic champion Martin Schulz is the man to follow in the men’s PTS5 race in Swansea. Schulz won gold in the 2023 World Triathlon Para Series Yokohama to open the season. Australia’s David Bryant crossed the line in fifth position in last weekend’s race in Montreal to open the Paris 2024 Qualification window.
Para Triathlon superstars Grace Norman (USA), Claire Cashmore (GBR) and Lauren Steadman (GBR) will be among the stacked women’s PTS5 field hunting for medals and valuable points. Norman secured gold in last weekend’s race in Montreal and Steadman, who has recently returned back to racing and para triathlon after a hiatus, claimed silver.

PTVI Category
In the men’s PTVI category Dave Ellis knows what it takes to win gold on this course after landing the victory in the inaugural 2022 World Triathlon Para Series Swansea race. This field is stacked with talent and the podium could go to any of the incredible para triathletes who are lining up for honours.
Spain’s Paralympic champion Susana Rodriguez is undefeated in the women’s PTVI category. Rodriguez displayed a stellar performance in last weekend’s race in Montreal to commence the road to the next Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024.
