A scary scene took place Monday night in Mexico when New York Yankees outfielder Oscar Gonzalez suffered a right orbital fracture in the exhibition game against the Diablos Rojos.
During the second inning of the international exhibition game, Gonzalez fouled off an inside pitch, which ricocheted upwards directly into his eye. He remained on the ground for several minutes as he was attended to by the training staff.

Gonzalez was able to walk to the cart under his own power and was transferred to a nearby hospital where he is expected to remain through Monday night.

Gonzalez was enjoying a strong spring with the Yankees. In 20 games and 46 at-bats, Gonzalez slashed .326/.367/.522 with one home run, four doubles and seven RBI. He seemed to be in the mix for the final bench spot, but he was reassigned to the minor leagues Monday.
