Although more will come on July 26 at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked launch event, the Galaxy Watch family has just taken a big step forward. This wearable lineup has just received the first WhatsApp smartwatch app alongside Samsung Wallet and Thermo Check, which measures temperatures remotely.

While availability varies by smartwatch model and the paired smartphone, and is also limited to certain markets, it is good to know that a trio of very popular and/or useful apps is coming to the Samsung Galaxy Watch wearables. The trio consists of the following: Samsung Wallet, Thermo Check, and WhatsApp.

While the first and the last apps mentioned above need no introduction, Thermo Check is not that well-known yet. The Thermo Check app will launch with the next-gen Galaxy Watch devices scheduled to launch next Wednesday, at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. At a later time, the Galaxy Watch 5 series will get it as well. This app can measure temperatures without physical contact, so the user can check the temperature of surrounding objects, including the meal on their plates and the water in the pool.

WhatsApp, although it has been around for a while, will arrive to Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 as the first-ever smartwatch app of Meta’s popular service. This piece of code allows its users to reply to messages by voice and even answer calls exclusively with the help of their smartwatches.

More software-related news for Galaxy Watch smartwatch users and other consumers will surface on July 26 at 8 p.m. KST / 7 a.m. EST, when the next Galaxy Unpacked event is set to take place.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
