Alibaba Cloud Unveils New Services to Solve Generative AI Development Issues

On September 26, Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, announced a range of innovative AI products and services at the 2023 Alibaba Cloud Global Summit. These new offerings are designed to meet the burgeoning demand for Generative AI development from customers worldwide.

Alibaba Cloud offers a wide range of AI solutions, including AI computing platforms, AI acceleration services, and AI-centric applications. These solutions are designed to help customers create their own Generative AI applications more efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively.

Comprehensive AI Services for Generative AI Development

To reduce AI process complexity, Alibaba Cloud has launched PAI-Lingjun Intelligent Computing Service, an advanced AI computing platform designed for high-performance computing tasks like foundation model training and inference. This platform offers extensive deep learning and intelligent computing capabilities on Alibaba Cloud. Additionally, it provides a complete range of AI engineering features, including AI development, training, role management, and resource allocation. Currently available in Mainland China, the service will be accessible in Singapore starting early 2024 and will gradually expand across Asia throughout the year.

To accelerate AI model training and inference, Alibaba Cloud has introduced the Alibaba Cloud AI Acceleration Solution. This solution utilizes top-notch datasets and hardware accelerators to efficiently handle data-intensive applications. It optimizes computing instances, enabling faster AI model training and inference tasks. According to the Stanford DAWN Deep Learning Benchmark, it can accelerate AI model training by 70% and inference by up to three times. The solution comprises various layers such as cloud-native AI suite, AI job scheduling, AI data acceleration, AI computing acceleration engine, resource scheduling, and computing resources. Each layer provides specific acceleration solutions for different scenarios.

To simplify building AI-based search service, Alibaba Cloud has introduced OpenSearch LLM-Based Conversational Search, a powerful search engine that enables intelligent search services across various domains such as e-commerce, multimedia, social media, and big data queries in enterprises. This proprietary distributed search engine utilizes large language models to help enterprises quickly develop their own conversational search system. It guarantees secure, accurate, and reliable search results while also supporting multimodal results like answers, URLs, and images to meet specific business needs.
