At the recently held 2023 Amazon Global Selling Seller Conference, Amazon Global Selling Asia-Pacific Innovation Center settled in Qianhai, Shenzhen. This is the first innovation center of Amazon Global Selling.
It is reported that the innovation center will integrate resources from Amazon, industry organizations, experts and scholars, and third-party service providers. It will encompass diverse functions such as innovation display, exchange and learning, resource sharing, and innovative practices. The center aims to promote innovation among sellers in the Asia-Pacific region in areas such as new product promotion, brand building, digital operations, sustainable development, and exploration of new business models.
According to Amazon’s data, in the past year, the number of Chinese sellers on Amazon with sales exceeding 1 million US dollars has increased by over 25% compared to the previous year, and the number of Chinese sellers with sales exceeding 10 million US dollars has grown by nearly 30%. The quantity of goods sold by Chinese sellers through Amazon’s global sites to consumers and corporate customers has increased by over 20% compared to the previous year.
Amazon’s Vice President, Cindy Tai, stated that the cross-border e-commerce industry is becoming a new driving force for China’s foreign trade development. By 2024, Amazon Global Selling will focus on combining global innovation with local empowerment to deepen its global innovation efforts and speed. It will enhance localized service capabilities from dimensions such as seller service proximity, differentiation, richness, and innovation.
Amazon’s global selling business entered China in 2015 with the aim of leveraging Amazon’s global resources to help Chinese sellers develop their export business, expand into global markets, and build international brands. Currently, Amazon’s 18 major overseas sites including the United States, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium Japan Singapore Australia India UAE Saudi Arabia and Poland are open to Chinese sellers and have attracted hundreds of thousands of them to join.
