At Apple’s recent ‘Scary Fast’ Mac event, the MacBook Pro lineup received significant updates, now powered by the new M3 series chips. Apple also introduced a sleek new ‘Space Black’ finish for its higher-end 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, designed to reduce fingerprint marks with the help of an ‘anodization seal’.

Apple, in its recent ‘Scary Fast’ Mac event, revealed updates to its MacBook Pro lineup which now features the brand-new M3 series of chips announced during the same event. Notably, Apple also unveiled a fresh and sleek new finish for its Pro laptops, which the company calls ‘Space Black’.
The sophisticated new ‘Space Black’ color is available exclusively on the higher-end 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros equipped with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. Apple claims this new finish features an ‘anodization seal’ that ‘greatly reduces fingerprints’.
Gizmodo’s Kyle Barr, who had the privilege of getting hands-on with the newly launched devices, remarked :
I did have the chance to put my grubby hands on the newest M3-powered MacBook Pros, and while I didn’t see many leftover smears on the surface, it didn’t take long for Apple staff to swoop in with microfiber cloth in hand to remove any wayward stains. All that is to say, the new M3 MacBook Pro sure does look the part.
Renowned YouTuber Matthew Moniz, in his first impressions, stated :
It’s still going to get fingerprints based on my testing and touching it and looking at other people touching it, but it’s still much better than the Midnight Black on the MacBook Air.
The newly revamped MacBook Pro line-up now starts at US$1,599 and beginning on Tuesday, November 7, most configurations will be available to customers both in stores and for delivery.
