The BlitzWolf BW-HL5 is a new smartwatch with a large display and, according to the manufacturer, a huge range of functions. It is even said to be able to measure blood sugar levels and blood pressure – that simply sounds too good and makes one skeptical.
BlitzWolf has a new smartwatch on offer with the BW-HL5. It is now available for direct import at a price of just around 27 euros, which should already include import duties. It will also be delivered from China and is not expected to arrive before the beginning of February.
It is a large smartwatch, so a 2.1-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 386 pixels is used. The screen should merge into the housing without an edge, which should ensure a good feel. The screen view can be split in a certain way, which is a kind of quick access bar. It is a touchscreen, but there is also a rotating crown.
Like many other smartwatch manufacturers, BlitzWolf advertises fantastic sensors for the BW-HL5. It not only measures blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, and temperature but also blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The blood sugar measurement and blood pressure measurement in particular seem unrealistic – we will soon also be looking specifically at the blood glucose measurement on another, but basically comparable smartwatch.
Apart from this, as usual, it should also be possible to track everyday activity and various sports. Sleep monitoring is also promised. The battery life is specified as up to four days with intensive use. Thanks to the microphone and speaker, the watch can also be used as a Bluetooth hands-free system.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.
