BYD has officially announced its entry into the Greek passenger car market during a product launch event held in Athens, Greece, on March 20, where the company unveiled two new models – the Yuan PLUS (BYD ATTO 3) and the Seal.
The event was a joint venture between BYD and the Sfakianakis Group, a leading Greek dealership established in 1958 with a significant presence across 14 European countries and a workforce exceeding 1500 employees. The launch took place at the historic Zappeion Palace in Athens, marking a significant milestone in BYD’s European expansion strategy.
The company’s future plans include the introduction of additional models such as the Dolphin, Song PLUS EV Champion Edition, and Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition. This move aims to diversify BYD’s offerings and cater to a broad range of consumer preferences.
In line with its market penetration strategy, BYD has already opened its first store in Athens and is planning to inaugurate a second one in early April. These stores will provide consumers with the opportunity to personally experience and order BYD’s innovative products.
Since September 2022, BYD has been making significant strides in its European expansion. The company has launched several of its new energy vehicle models in 20 European countries, including Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Hungary. To date, it has established more than 250 stores across these countries, underlining its commitment to the European market.
