BYD Launched the U8 Premium Edition Under Its High-End Sub-Brand Yangwang

BYD, the world’s top producer of electric vehicles and advanced batteries, has officially introduced the U8 Premium Edition as part of its luxury sub-brand, Yangwang. The price for this model is set at ¥1,098,000 ($150,300), with deliveries scheduled to commence in October of this year.

This remarkable automobile features a plug-in hybrid system that provides an impressive CLTC (Comprehensive Long Trip Capability) range of up to 1,000 km, ensuring reassurance during off-road expeditions. The Yangwang U8 is propelled by two innovative technologies: the e⁴ platform and the DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System.

The U8 Premium Edition is powered by the e⁴ Platform and DiSus-P technologies. It has a 1,200-horsepower engine and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The four-motor independent drive technology provides precise control and safety. The DiSus Intelligent Body Control System enhances vehicle agility and compatibility in different driving situations, reducing rollover risk and protecting against damage on challenging roads.

An Unprecedented Premium Off-roader for the Discerning Driver

The U8 Premium Edition charges quickly, reaching 30% to 80% in 18 minutes. It can float for up to 30 minutes in extreme conditions and has a vehicle-to-load discharge capability of 6 kW for powering devices. The car integrates high-precision components and the NVIDIA ADRIVE Orin intelligent driving processor with strong computational capabilities. It also features Blade Batteries and Cell-to-Chassis technology for safety during travel.

The U8 Premium Edition has a symmetrical, dual-layered cockpit with a 12.8-inch OLED Galaxy Curved Center Display. It also includes dual 23.6-inch longitudinal screens for the driver and front passenger, as well as high-end Nappa leather seats combined with Sapele wood from Africa. The car is equipped with three wireless charging spots that are compatible with 50 kW fast charging, providing passengers with quick and convenient charging options. Additionally, it features the Dynaudio Evidence Series high-end audio system with 22 speakers to create an immersive auditory experience.
