A total of 43 million smartphones were shipped in India during the July-September months according to the latest Canalys Smartphone Market Pulse report. The figure represents a 3% drop compared to the values from a year ago but Canalys notes that the improved consumer confidence and the launch of several high-profile smartphones will likely lead to positive growth ahead of the festive season.

Samsung retained its market leadership with an estimated 7.9 million shipments and 18% market share. Xiaomi came in at a close second place matching Samsung’s market share figure while shipping 7.6 million smartphones. Vivo rounds out the top three with 7.2 million shipments and a 17% market share.
