CATL reports 67.5% increase in half-year revenue

From January to June 2023, CATL achieved a total income of RMB 189 billion ($27 billion), a year-on-year growth of 67.5%, according to its half-yearly report. The company’s main business scope comprises four segments: power batteries, energy storage batteries, battery materials and recycling, and mineral resources. In the first half of 2023, its power batteries sector accounted for 73.7% of its total revenue, and its energy storage battery business saw a year-on-year increase of 119.7%. CATL is China’s leading player in the field of battery manufacturing. According to data from the South Korean institution SNE Research, the company held the largest global market share of 36.3% in power batteries during the first five months of 2023.
