What just happened? Google is boosting Google Play Games on PC by expanding its game library, improving search, and adding support for controllers and 4K monitors. Four types of controllers are now supported in specific games, and there are over 3,000 titles to choose from, including the popular Clash of Clans and Clash Royale games.
Google has introduced several updates to the Google Play Games beta on PC to enhance the gaming experience. These improvements include a broader game selection, a revamped search feature, 4K gaming capabilities, and console controller compatibility.
The catalog now boasts over 3,000 titles, with recent additions like Clash Royale and Clash of Clans. Supercell enthusiastically announced this on its website. Stuart McGaw, the general manager of Clash of Clans, expressed the company’s hopes that many players would embrace this new avenue for gameplay. Google has also committed to expanding the game roster based on community requests.
In response to user feedback, Google has refined the search feature within Google Play Games. Players seeking specific titles can now effortlessly navigate to the “All Games” section, locate the search bar at the top, and key in their desired game.
Additionally, Google is integrating console support for select games, including Asphalt 9: Legends and Badland. Gamers can now utilize controllers such as the PS4 DualShocks, PS5 DualSense, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on their PCs. This move appears to be in line with Apple’s decision to incorporate support for the Xbox Series X and DualSense controllers in iOS 14.5.
