The OnePlus 12 is now available in India. This phone pairs the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with Hasselblad-tuned cameras – 50MP main (1/1.43”, OIS), 64MP 3x periscope and 48MP ultra wide. The 6.82” display is an LTPO panel with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit colors. The 5,400mAh battery supports both 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
It’s not quite here yet, but the OnePlus 12R will go on sale on Tuesday. This one dials things back a bit with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 1,264 x 2,780px display – still a 10-bit 120Hz LTPO panel. The camera is perhaps the biggest downgrade with a 50MP main (1/1.56”, OIS) and 8MP ultra wide, no telephoto in sight. The 5,500mAh battery has 100W wired-only charging.
Two other new arrivals that focus on the cameras are the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+. The Pro+ is cheaper than the 12R, but it has a 64MP 3x periscope to go with the 50MP main (1/1.56”, OIS) and 8MP ultra wide. The 6.7” display has only FHD+ resolution and isn’t an LTPO panel (it does have 10-bit colors, though). It is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired-only charging.
The Realme 12 Pro is cheaper still and, accordingly, has some downgrades – Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and a 32MP 2x tele camera. You get the same display and battery as the Pro+, however.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE price is starting to fall – the 8/128GB model was ₹55,000 at the end of January, it’s down to ₹49,000 now. In India, the phone is powered by the Exynos 2200. It has a 50MP main, 8MP 3x tele and 12MP ultra wide cameras and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W wired, 15W wireless charging. Like S phones of its generation, it will receive 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches, DeX is supported.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic is a couple of generations old, but it’s hard to find a Wear OS watch at ₹10,000 or so. Old though it may be, it still has a rotating bezel, ECG and a blood-pressure monitor.
The Lava Agni 2 is a 5G phone powered by the Dimensity 7050 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It has a large 6.78” 120Hz display, a curved 10-bit FHD+ AMOLED. The 50MP main camera (1/1.55”, OIS) is joined by an 8MP ultra wide, the battery has 4,700mAh capacity and supports 66W fast charging.
The Lava Storm is a cheaper 5G model, based on the Dimensity 6080. It also has a 6.78” FHD+ 120Hz display, but it is a flat IPS LCD. There’s a 50MP main camera (smaller sensor, no OIS) and an 8MP ultra wide, the 5,000mAh battery drops to 33W charging.
Finally, the Lava Yuva 3 is an entry-level 4G phone that runs full Android 13 on a Unisoc T606 chipset. It has a 6.5” 90Hz IPS LCD with HD+ resolution and a 13MP camera. The 5,000mAh battery on this one charges at 18W, but at least it has a USB-C port.
