Garmin has released new beta updates for the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965. Rolling out as Beta Version 16.12, the updates bring numerous bug fixes and changes to both smartwatches, with more headed to the Forerunner 965 than the Forerunner 265.
Garmin has published new beta builds for the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965, two of its latest smartwatches. As always, the pair have received the same software build number but with slightly different changelogs. According to Garmin, both builds are in a pre-rollout state. As such, they require a different installation method than conventional beta builds, like Beta Version 14.26 for the Fenix 7 series or Beta 15.08 for the Venu 2 and Venu 2S.
In both forum posts, Garmin explains that you must have enrolled your smartwatch on its beta program. Additionally, you must have added a Wi-Fi network directly within your smartwatch’s main settings menu. Please see the forum posts for more details, where Garmin also offers troubleshooting advice.
As far as we can tell, the Forerunner 965 has received six additional changes in its version of Beta Version 16.12 than the Forerunner 265.
