Unfortunately, these Pixels don’t offer the same value as before, due to the price hike. That said, Pixel phones go on sale several times throughout a year, so I strongly suggest you wait for the price to drop before buying one. It also helps that Google is promising an unheard-of seven years of software updates (including security and Android version updates), plus repair support for parts, as well.

The Pixel 8 Pro is a solid phone and a modest update to its predecessor. It’s a pity to see Google increase the price without offering anything I’d consider a huge upgrade, though the long-term support may be enough to merit the uptick for some. The cameras are better than ever, but I wouldn’t consider Google’s highlight software tricks a worthy selling point as they’re a little too spotty when viewed under a microscope and not nearly as snappy as Google made them look.
