HONOR has taken the wraps off the world’s thinnest and lightest foldable phone, the HONOR Magic V2.
The Magic V2 features the slimmest dimensions for an inward foldable phone, when unfolded, it measures just 4.9mm and 9.9mm when the phone is returned to a bar form, it also weighs from 231g when customers choose the PU leather back variant and 237g for the glass back variant, making it on par with conventional bar smartphones in terms of aesthetics.
Powering the HONOR Magic V2 is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired to 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage, the external screen remains similar to the Magic Vs at 6.43-inches with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, while the internal screen measures 7.92-inches with a 120Hz refresh rate, both screens come with eye-care features and 3840Hz PWM Dimming.
In terms of durability, the HONOR Magic V2’s hinge has been strengthened despite its sleekness and promises up to 400,000 folds, while it also has a lesser crease than before, the weight reduction is also attributed to 70% reduction in parts and the use of a titanium alloy frame.
The external display is also strengthened by a second-generation nanocrystal glass, which resists drops 10 times better than the previous model.
The HONOR Magic V2 continues to be juiced by a dual cell 5000mAh battery like before, which is extremely impressive considering its slim dimensions, and this is all thanks to the use of a high-density silicon carbon battery that enables more energy to be stored in a single battery cell, the battery can also be fast charged with 66W Honor SuperCharge, however wireless charging continues to be missing this round.
Camera wise, the HONOR Magic V2 takes on the competition with an upgraded triple camera system, where it features a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide and 20MP telephoto camera with OIS that offers up to 2.5x optical zoom, both the external and internal front cameras are the same 16MP shooters.
Also, the HONOR Magic V2 brings over the AI Motion Sensing fast capture feature from the Magic 5 Pro, which allows for fast action captures at the tap of the shutter button with the assistance of AI algorithms, which HONOR fondly calls it the Falcon Capture Algorithm.
The HONOR Magic V2 retails for RM6,999, preorders will begin today till 24th January 2024, where customers will enjoy free gifts worth up to RM3,347, including an HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2, 365 Day Screen Crack Protection and a Foldable Phone Car Holder.
In conjunction with the launch, HONOR Malaysia has teased that the limited-edition HONOR Magic V2 RSR will be making its way to Malaysian shores with no confirmed dates and price, and it can only be purchased through an invite-only system, which you can register your interest here to find out if you will be chosen to buy the phone.
