Honor has introduced the Watch 4 Pro, a new smartwatch with a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display set within a stainless steel case. The Honor Watch 4 Pro also has an eSIM, GPS and NFC, as well as precise heart rate and SpO2 sensors, among other features.
Honor has released another smartwatch following its summer launch of the Watch 4. While the Watch 4 Pro sits within the same series as the Watch 4, the pair do not look alike. Instead, the Watch 4 Pro looks more like a follow-up to the Watch GS 3 on account of its round display and conventional wristwatch design. However, the Watch 4 Pro appears to have narrower display bezels than the Watch GS 3, which Honor released in January 2022.
According to Honor, the Watch 4 Pro has a 46 mm stainless steel (316L) case, within which it includes 1.5-inch display built around an AMOLED panel. For reference, the display operates at 464 x 464 pixels and has an LTPO backplane to vary its refresh rate to reduce power consumption. Additionally, the smartwatch is 5 ATM water resistant and has an LTE modem with an eSIM for cellular connectivity without having a paired smartphone nearby. Purportedly, the Watch 4 Pro lasts up to 14 days between charges too, albeit with its LTE, GPS and NFC modules inactive.
Moreover, the Watch 4 Pro is said to have accurate heart rate and SpO2 sensors. Honor’s latest smartwatch starts at CNY 1,549 (~US$212) in China with a silicone watch band and black casing. In comparison, the smartwatch’s brown and dark green colour options retail for CNY 1,749 (~US$240), a CNY 200 (~US$27) uplift seemingly just a leather strap. Like the Magic Vs2, Honor has not confirmed whether it intends to release the Watch 4 Pro globally. Typically, the company eventually offers its wearables outside its home market, although it can take several months to do so.
