Huawei’s Richard Yu: The New Company Has Invited the “Four Jie”, Hoping FAW Will Join

On November 28th, at the Luxeed S7 (ZhiJie S7) and Huawei All-Scenario Launch Event, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG), stated that two “Jie” products from BAIC and JAC are currently in the development process.

Huawei has extended invitations to Seres, Chery, JAC Motors, and BAIC, and hopes that FAW Group will also join.

Huawei has three cooperation models with car companies, namely the standardized parts supply model, HI model (Huawei Inside), and Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). HIMA is the deepest level of cooperation that Huawei participates in. Huawei’s select vehicle partners include BAIC, Seres, JAC Motors, Chery, etc. Huawei hopes to create an electrified and intelligent open platform jointly participated by the automotive industry. These select vehicle partners are considered investment cooperation targets.

Currently, HIMA has launched the “WenJie” (also known as AITO) and “ZhiJie” (also known as Luxeed) series. WenJie is an SUV model co-developed by Huawei and Seres, while ZhiJie is an electric sedan co-developed by Huawei and Chery.

Affected by this news, the automobile manufacturing sector saw a late-session rally. FAW and FAWAY both hit their daily limit up. As of the time of writing, BAIC BluePark was approaching its daily limit up, while JAC Motors and Seres followed suit in the upward trend.

Richard Yu stated that there will be two more “Jie” in the future, coming from BAIC and JAC respectively. According to insider information, the former will be named “XiangJie”, while the latter will be named “AoJie”.

Changan Automobile and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a “Memorandum of Investment Cooperation” on November 25th. After consultation between both parties, Huawei plans to establish a company engaged in the research, design, production, sales, and service of intelligent automotive systems and component solutions. Changan Automobile intends to invest in the target company and carry out strategic cooperation.
