The cold weather may have delayed this week’s playoff showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills, but Buffalo’s quarterback had even bigger competition during the commercial break. Paramount+ has debuted the first of two new ads that will run during this year’s playoffs. And in the first spot, the Decepticon Scourge from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts took issue with the idea that Allen has a cannon for an arm since Scourge literally has a cannon on his arm.
Game of Thrones‘ Peter Dinklage reprises his role as Scourge for the ad, as does Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Other guest appearances in the ad include the children’s characters Dora the Explorer and Peppa Pig, both of whom have hit series on Paramount+. CBS’ NFL commentary team of Tony Romo and Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson also briefly appear as themselves.
Paramount+
Paramount+ has previously run several ads under the Mountain of Entertainment campaign that feature bizarre crossovers from several Paramount shows, as well as real-life figures like Sylvester Stallone. Apparently, there is one more Paramount+ ad this postseason that will debut shortly before running during the Super Bowl.
So far, Paramount+ hasn’t revealed which of its characters and TV personalities will appear in the Super Bowl ad. However, Paramount+ is also streaming the Super Bowl this year, so the commercial will be shown on the very app that it’s promoting.
Super Bowl LVIII will take place on February 11. The two teams playing won’t be known until the AFC and NFC championship games crown the winners of their respective conferences later this month.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trailer spotlights the arrival of Unicron
The battle for Earth rages on in the latest trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The latest footage pits the villainous Unicron at the center of the action. Debuting in the 1986 animated film The Transformers: The Movie, the Unicron is the leader of the evil Terrorcons that devour worlds. As Mirage says in the trailer, the Unicron “eats planets.”
Directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II), Rise of the Beasts will introduce audiences to the Beast Wars storyline as the Autobots find new allies in the form of the Maximals. Set in 1994 New York City, the film stars Anthony Ramos (Hamilton) as Noah Diaz, an ex-military electronics expert. Heteams up with an Autobot spy named Mirage (Bupkis’ Pete Davidson), who transforms into a silver-blue Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8. Diaz is eventually led to Optimus Prime (Transformers’ Peter Cullen) as he joins in the global fight to save humanity. The Autobots ally themselves with a new Transformers faction, the Maximals, to battle the Unicron and the Terrorcons.

Transformers brings the action to the ’90s in Rise of the Beasts trailer
Paramount is bringing the action and adventure of the Transformers franchise to 1994 in the teaser trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Based on the Beast Wars toys and storyline, Rise of the Beasts will add new groups of Transformers, such as Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons, to the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons.

Paramount+ is developing a new Jackass revival series
Nearly twenty years after the original Jackass series was cancelled by MTV, a revival show may be on the horizon. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish revealed the news during an earnings call earlier today. He also mentioned that the show’s original creators are involved with the revival.
“Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we’re working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+,” said Bakish.
