Lenovo’s US store currently has the Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 powered by the new Ryzen 7 7840HS APU along with the Nvidia RTX 4060 dGPU discounted to US$1,219.99, which can further be reduced via a BENGEXTRA6 code from SlickDeals down to US$1,146.80.

This 2023 Legion Slim 5 gaming laptop variant also comes with a 16-inch 2560×1600 IPS that has 165 Hz refresh rate + GSYNC, 300-nit peak brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. The 8-core R7 7840HS integrates a Radeon 780M RDNA3 GPU with decent gaming capabilities, but, for more advanced titles that can use super resolution and frame generation algorithms, the RTX 4060 with 8 GB VRAM and 100 W TGP makes more sense. The processor is coupled with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and the storage side is populated with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

Port selection includes 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (one with DP video only and another full option), HDMI 2.1 video out, SD card reader, audio combo jack and GbE jack. Wireless connectivity is offered through a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.1 card.
