There have been some major changes in the top management of Microsoft’s India operations. The tech giant’s India operations will now be headed by Irina Ghose after Anant Maheshwari resigned.
After Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari resigned from his role, there has been some frenzied reshuffling among the company’s top executives. Let’s look at the latest developments and how they might impact the company’s future in India.
Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari Resigns After 7 Years
Microsoft’s India operations witnessed a flurry of activity at the top management this week after the company’s President Anant Maheshwari resigned from his role. He was with Microsoft for seven years.
A Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed the developments:
“We can confirm that Anant has decided to leave Microsoft to pursue a role outside the company. We would like to thank Anant for his many contributions to our business and culture in India and wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
Before working for Microsoft, Maheshwari served as the president of Honeywell India, and as engagement manager at McKinsey & Company. Interestingly, Maheshwari hasn’t updated his LinkedIn profile yet, which still mentions he is “President at Microsoft India”.
COO Irina Ghose Elevated To MD For Microsoft India
After Maheshwari’s exit, Microsoft elevated the company’s chief operating officer Irina Ghose to the role of Managing Director for India. Apart from Ghose, Microsoft has promoted some from the top management.
Microsoft India has promoted Navtej Bal and he will now be the new CEO. Venkat Krishnan will now take over the role of Executive Director of public sector business.
Navtej Bal served as the director of the public sector business at Microsoft India, while Venkat Krishnan was the Executive Director of global partner solutions.
Recent reports had indicated that Microsoft has successfully pulled in AWS India head Puneet Chandok. However, the company’s senior engineering executive Sreenivasa Reddy could leave, and join Google, before the current year ends.
Nearly every large tech company is currently facing uncertain times due to the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape and rules pertaining to user privacy and data. The top management could help steer the policies in their favor.
