Meizu hints that its upcoming flagship Android smartphone is coming for the Xiaomi 14 in terms of ultra-narrow-bezel screens. The 21 is touted to put an end to the display chin (or disproportionately thick bottom border) with an apparently consistent black edge of under 2 millimeters in height. The device’s other premium aspects are thought to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
When is 1.74mm better than 1.71mm in terms of display chin measurements? When it is attached to an upcoming 21-series smartphone, according to Meizu. The OEM claims to have developed its least obtrusive screen bezel for its next premium mobile devices.
Then again, the Xiaomi 14 did launch with an even thinner display chin, something Meizu seems to be fully aware of. Nevertheless, the Geely-owned company still asserts that the 21 will turn out looking better thanks to the balance between its display borders and the screen itself.
The brand might go into more detail as to how that has been achieved during its next major press conference, scheduled to start on November 15, 2023.
The impending event is thought to introduce very iterative upgrades to the 20 and 20 Pro that debuted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 144Hz OLED displays and close tie-ins with the Geely cars sold in Meizu’s native China.
