The Apple Vision Pro might be the new kid on the block, but with prices starting at $3,499, it’s prohibitively expensive for most. The latest Meta Quest 3 is a great alternative, and while it certainly isn’t a perfect system, it’s more than capable. Unfortunately, given that it’s still relatively new and a considerable upgrade from the Meta Quest 2, there aren’t any good direct discounts on it.
However, buying the 128GB version will net you a free game, while the 512GB model will also get you Meta Quest Plus for six months. The game and subscription add up to about $100, so it’s a good deal if you look at it from that perspective.
Unlike the Meta Quest 2, the Quest 3 embraces both virtual-reality and mixed-reality experiences, similar to Apple’s Vision Pro and last year’s Quest Pro. It costs a lot less than both those devices, though, with a $500 starting price.
Other improvements over its predecessor include a new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, better graphics, a higher-resolution display and improved controllers.

Best Meta Quest 3 deals
Unlike other retailers, Newegg is not only offering a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 with Meta Quest 3 orders but is instead throwing in some other valuable freebies. Go for the 128GB model and you’ll snag the free game along with a $10 Newegg gift card to spend on future purchases plus a 12-month subscription to NordVPN (worth $70), one of our favorite VPN services. While you can sideload VPN apps onto the Quest, that subscription will mainly be useful for your other tech with support for up to six devices.
Upgrade to the 512GB Meta Quest 3 and you’ll get the same free game and NordVPN sub, plus a $20 Newegg credit and six months of Meta Quest Plus, but this package will set you back $649.
Similar to the Newegg deal, Amazon’s offer features both versions of the Meta Quest 3 and includes a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 (a $60 value). Go for the 512GB variant for $649 and you’ll also get a free six-month trial of Meta Quest Plus along with Asgard’s Wrath 2.
Best Buy is offering the same deal as Amazon: You’ll get a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 with the Quest 3 128GB, although the upgraded 512GB isn’t currently available.
Target has the same offer as the retailers above, including a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 and a free six-month Quest Plus membership with the 512GB version. You’ll also save 5% when you pay with a Target RedCard, which saves you up to $32.
Like other retailers, Walmart is offering a free copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2 with the Meta Quest 3. Six free months of Quest Plus are also included with the 512GB model.
You can, of course, go straight to Meta to pick up the new Quest 3 headset. And you’ll see the same free game and Meta Quest Plus promos there, too.
The Quest 3 is also available for purchase at B&H and you can get the tax back as cashback if you pay with B&H’s own Payboo credit card.
