The Movano Evie smart ring will launch this November, according to a recent announcement from the company. The wearable has heart rate, HRV and SpO2 level tracking with an accompanying app. However, the gadget has yet to receive the medical device clearance it currently seeks from the FDA.
Movano has confirmed that it will launch its Evie Ring smart health tracking wearable on November 20. As stated earlier this year, when the company announced a delay to the device’s launch date, the gadget will retail for US$269 without any subscription fees. Customers will be able to choose between sizes 5-12, with a complimentary ring sizing kit included with the purchase.
The Evie Ring can track various health metrics, including heart rate, HRV and blood oxygen level. You can also use the gadget to track your sleep health, menstrual cycle and activity levels, with insights in an accompanying app. Plus, Movano says its app can show connections between your mental and physical states. The company intends to add blood pressure, skin temperature and glucose level tracking later.
In other news, Movano Health announced that it started another round of testing in October with an unnamed health insurer and “leading” remote patient monitoring company. Further details about the experiment, like its goal or length, have not been disclosed. Movano also noted that it was continuing to work through its review with the FDA, hoping to receive medical device clearance; whether or when the gadget will gain the agency’s approval remains to be seen.
