As you may already be aware, CelcomDigi are now operating as one entity and with the successful merger, it has unveiled its 5G Postpaid offerings today.
Starting from RM80/month and up to RM260/month, the flagship Postpaid 5G 260 plan comes with unlimited 4G/5G Internet quota, uncapped 5G speed, unlimited hotspot sharing and calls, while you get other benefits such as 50% off unlimited 5G roaming passes, 50% off supplementary lines, and free 300Mbps Home Fibre.
While 4G/5G data quota continues to be unlimited for Postpaid 5G 120 till Postpaid 5G 160, CelcomDigi has interestingly capped 5G speeds and introduced hotspot quota.
The lower priced Postpaid 5G 100 and Postpaid 5G 80 will have 150GB and 90GB base quotas respectively but will have their hotspot quota shared from the main quota, 5G speeds are also capped at 300Mbps for the Postpaid 5G 100 plan and 100Mbps for the Postpaid 5G 80 plan.
If you are looking for supplementary lines, all CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G plans can have up to 6 lines including Gadget SIMs.
Family lines are available in two plans with the Family Plus having unlimited 4G/5G quota at RM50/month, but 5G speed is limited to 300Mbps while you get a dedicated 20GB hotspot quota.
Previously, Digi offered a Gadget SIM for RM10/month with shared quota from the principal line, but with the new CelcomDigi Gadget SIM, you will be getting dedicated quota for on device usage but hotspot quota will still be taken from your principal line’s main quota, 5G speeds are also unfortunately capped at up to 300Mbps depending on the plan you choose.
Overall, these new CelcomDigi plans are a mixed bag of upgrades and downgrades from respective telco’s postpaid plans, while not many will be happy about the capped 5G speeds, you do at least save more per GB used.
CelcomDigi has not mentioned if existing subscribers will automatically be switched to these new plans, but if you are interested in upgrading your existing Celcom or Digi postpaid plans, you can do so starting 1 December 2023 onwards.
