Nothing officially introduces Phone (2) from $599

Nothing has finally unveiled its second smartphone, which has been teased and hyped as usual, the Phone (2) introduces many upgrades over its predecessor and is now powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and it features an upgraded Glyph interface that now works with third party apps, and users can even compose their own ringtones and lighting styles with a composer.

The Phone (2) may look the same like its predecessor, but Nothing has done some subtle updates to its design, including a 2.5D curved glass on the back, slimmer screen bezels and by moving the front camera punch hole cutout from the side to the center, it also gets an improved IP54 dust and splash resistant body.

The display of the Phone (2) has also been increased to 6.7-inches and is now a LTPO panel that refreshes adaptively at 120Hz, brightness has also greatly improved at 1600nits peak brightness.

In terms of cameras, the Phone (2) has a dual camera setup that comprises a main 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultrawide camera, the main camera is capable of capturing up to 4K 60 fps videos, while the front camera also sees a resolution bump from the Phone (1) to 32-megapixel but still takes 1080p videos.

Nothing has increased the battery size of the Phone (2) to 4700mAh and now supports 45W USB PD charging, which can be fully charged in 55 minutes, it also supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.

The Phone (2) will ship with Nothing OS 2.0 based on Android 13, which features new customizations and a selection of widgets, the brand promises up to 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches, that’s an impressive commitment for a startup phone brand.

Nothing will be selling the Phone (2) in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB storage variants in Malaysia, and we will be sure to update this space when we get the pricing on 14th July.

The Phone (2) will be available exclusively at Crossover Mid Valley on 15th July, and general availability will be on 22nd July, where customers can purchase the Phone (2) at Yes 5G, DirectD, TMT, URBAN Republic, TAC Mobile, Vivid Concepts, official Nothing Lazada and Shopee stores.
