OnePlus 12 display hyped as new smartphone industry best ahead of launch

OnePlus has collaborated with BOE to make the 12 with what the OEM is now calling the Android smartphone display of the highest standards in the industry. It is now touted to be particularly eye health-friendly despite its putative ultra-high brightness, and to have a new usability feature that debuted in the Ace 2 Pro. Meanwhile, the device has picked up more certifications on its way to a global launch.

OnePlus had previously touted its upcoming “10-year” flagship smartphone as one that had broken multiple DisplayMate records even before its official release; then again, the OEM did not specify which ones or in which respect exactly.

Then again, one or more of them might relate to eye protection, according to the president of OnePlus’ China division Li Jie Louis. The executive has decided that the 12’s display is so good it deserves yet another deep dive on Weibo, highlighting how it is about to become an “industry benchmark” in terms of user comfort and experience this time.

The 12’s “X1” display has been sourced from BOE rather than historical OnePlus partner Samsung; nevertheless, the partners assert that they have spent 2 years making the new 2K panel as bright and fluid as possible.

Li Jie Louis has also hinted that it will incorporate the new Rain Touch technology as only seen in the Ace 2 Pro thus far. All this new hype does not contain a launch date for the upcoming 11 successor; then again, judging by its progress, most recently achieving NBTC approval under its global model number, that event cannot be far off at this point.
