The first foldable smartphone from OnePlus is rumoured to be called ‘OnePlus Open’. It was rumoured to be launching in Q3 of 2023. Now, the upcoming much awaited smartphone has a more concrete timeline of launch, according to leaks by reliable tipsters.
According to Max Jambor, a reliable leaker, the launch date for the foldable smartphone is likely to be August 29. This was earlier speculated in other reports too.
OnePlus Open Rumoured Launch Details
No official word has been released by the company on the upcoming launch. However, speculations suggest that the launch is likely to happen in China first, and then will see a gradual rollout across different world markets.
India and USA is likely to be included in the global rollout.
Jambor, the tipster, also added that the newly leaked OnePlus 12, is likely to be launched in December.
OnePlus Open: Rumoured Specifications
According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the smartphone is expected to feature “excellent” displays, cameras, speakers among other hardware. This will be in addition to offering a really good design and texture.
Speculations suggest the the smartphone will come with a 7.8-inch 2K AMOLED inner screen and a 6.3-inch AMOLED outer display. Both displays are likely to have a refresh rate of 120Hz.
When it comes to processor, the phone is expected to come loaded with an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. In the arena of storage, the phone will boast of a 16GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
On the back of the phone, the camera set up is expected to include a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens,and a 32-megapixel sensor with a periscope lens.
Additionally the phone is likely to feature two 32MP front cameras.
When it comes to design, leaked renders of the phone have shown it to have a leather finish, along with a large circular centre-aligned camera module. Colour options for the phone are expected to be black, gold and green.
