One-Netbook is gearing up to release the ONEXGPU, a ONEXPLAYER-branded eGPU that houses an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT like the GPD G1. Not only will One-Netbook’s equivalent ship with an M.2 2280 slot and RGB lighting, but it will also undercut the GPD G1 with a US$599 starting price.
One-Netbook has now revealed full details about the ONEXGPU, an eGPU that it started teasing nearly a month ago under its ONEXPLAYER sub-brand. To recap, the company previously confirmed that the ONEXGPU would only ship with the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT, a Navi 33 and RDNA 3-based graphics card. Based around 6 nm nodes, the Radeon RX 7600M XT features 32 Compute Units (CUs), will consume up to 120 W in the ONEXGPU and is compared to the desktop version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 in AMD’s marketing materials.
As we have discussed previously, this GPU choice puts the ONEXGPU in direct competition with the G1, an eGPU that GPD released earlier this year. One-Netbook has matched GPD by including an Oculink connection, which should limit performance loss with compatible devices compared to streaming over Thunderbolt 4. Incidentally, both eGPUs feature Thunderbolt 4 as a backup for devices that lack an Oculink connection. However, One-Netbook has sought to distinguish its effort from the GPD G1 by adding an M.2 2280 slot that runs at PCIe 2.0 speeds.
According to One-Netbook, the ONEXGPU will be available on Indiegogo from next week; the company has provided a specific release date, yet. VideoCardz has obtained initial pricing though, which it has demonstrated will start at US$599. This pricing will only last for 96 hours from the start of the device’s Indiegogo campaign, where it will also be possible to order an Oculink cable for US$29 or various M.2 2280 SSDs up to a 4 TB capacity, which will cost US$179. Please see the video below and One-Netbook’s Indiegogo page for more details.
