Some of the world’s largest property investors are gathering in Singapore on September 15th as Mingtiandi holds its third annual forum in the city-state.
Senior representatives of top pension funds such as Oxford Properties and Ivanhoe Cambridge will be joining the full day event at the Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel, with top executives from ESR Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and Centurion Corporation also set to take the stage.
The gathering of top players in property investment is expected to attract 250 attendees, with another 400 expected to view online via Mingtiandi’s MTD TV video platform. Beds, Sheds and More
The highlight of the event will be a keynote panel of senior executives from the region’s real estate investment world, with Alessandro Fiascaris, head of Asia Pacific for Oxford Properties, Laurent Fischler, head of investments for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge and Jeremy Lake, managing director for investment sales and capital markets with Savills Singapore also joining the session.
Also on the agenda is a panel on Singapore’s growing role as a global capital hub, with representatives of the Singapore stock exchange, international law firm DLA Piper and online investment platform Fraxtor set to join that discussion.
A panel on Southeast Asia’s industrial outlook will feature ESR head of Southeast Asia Jai Mirpuri, with representatives of other major industrial real estate players expected to confirm their participation in the coming days.
With India’s booming market for business parks and industrial space, the forum includes for the first time a panel on investment opportunities in the South Asian giant, with Josephine Yip, vice president for investments and asset management for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge having already confirmed participation.
A session dedicated to investment in Asia Pacific’s hospitality industry features Kazuya (Kazu) Wakimoto, general manager with the global real estate planning and promotion department at Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, with more senior executives expected to join in the coming days.
With rental housing strategies on the rise globally, a panel on Asia Pacific’s residential investment outlook will include Ho Lip Chin, chief investment officer for Centurion Corporation, which expanded into Hong Kong earlier this year, with representatives of other major players in the sector set to confirm their participation this week.
Also on the agenda is a spotlight interview with a senior representative of Brookfield Asset Management and a panel on investment in Singapore’s commercial markets, featuring a senior partner from McKinsey and Company, with more speakers to named shortly.
Top Executives Gather
Apart from the action on stage, attendees at the event will benefit from a chance to connect with their industry peers with more than 85 percent of the audience at Mingtiandi’s 2023 Singapore forum having been in director-level or higher positions.
39 percent of the 2023 attendees worked in the fund management industry, with another 12 percent representing major pension funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds.
Among the top investors attending last year’s Singapore forum were senior representatives of APG Asset Management, BlackRock, CapitaLand Investment, Macquarie Asset Management, Tishman Speyer and Warburg Pincus.
