Cross-platform Android gaming has entered a new era as Google is now offering official support. The Google Play Games Beta program is now available in India and 60 more countries.

The Google Play Games beta program is essentially an official and fully supported pathway that allows gamers to play Android games on any desktop or laptop PC. Let’s look at the program which debuted in Europe and Japan in March this year.

Google Play Android Games Enables Reliable Cross-Platform Gaming With Multilanguage Support

Android games have exploded in popularity. However, the Android operating system and the supported apps as well as games, are optimized for smartphones. In other words, most Android games and gamers are indirectly limited to the comparatively tiny smartphone display.

Gamers have tried to play Android games on desktops, laptops, tablets, or even smart TVs or consoles. However, the experience is often poor, and setting up the entire system is cumbersome. Oftentimes, players have to mess with emulators, customize keyboard and mouse controls, or even make changes to the Windows registry.

Google Play Games promises to eliminate most of the pain points associated with playing Android games on large screens. Additionally, Google Play Games on PC offers numerous advantages, including the utilization of larger screens and improved controls through mouse and keyboard inputs.

After debuting in Europe and Japan in March this year, the platform is now expanding its beta version on PC. It will allow players in India and 60 more regions to enjoy their favorite Android games across multiple devices.

Google Play Games officially unlocks cross-platform gaming experience. It enables seamless gameplay on phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and PCs. It offers language support in English and Hindi.

Google Play Games Beta Ensures Game Data, Progress, and Achievements Reflect Across Devices

Previously, gamers had to sacrifice their progress, achievements, power-ups, or other in-game aspects if they wanted to move from an Android smartphone to a larger screen. Gamers will no longer have to give up anything if they shift to a bigger display or console.

With the Google Play Games platform, players can easily and effortlessly sync their game progress and libraries across devices. Players can reportedly get a seamless gaming experience without interruptions.

Google has assured that it is working closely with developers to optimize their games for larger screens, providing players with an enhanced gaming experience. There will be continuous improvement, Google added and noted that it will introduce new features based on user needs and preferences.

Currently, popular titles from Indian developers like Ludo King and Hitwicket Games, as well as globally acclaimed games such as Eversoul, Lords Mobile, and Evony: The King’s Return are part of the Google Play Games platform.

To participate in the beta program, visit the platform’s Google Play page. Gamers may need to sign up using the Google ID used for playing Android games when they log into their games from a different device. Google Play Games currently supports seamless gameplay on phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and PCs. The platform currently supports only Windows 10 and above. Linux and Apple macOS support may be in the works.
