Polar has finally replaced its Vantage V2 smartwatch series. In its place arrives the Vantage V3, which comes in Sky Blue, Night Black and Sunrise Apricot colour options. All available for US$599.95, the Polar Vantage V3 has a large AMOLED display, dual-frequency GPS and over a week of battery life, among other features.
Polar has unveiled the Vantage V3, three years after presenting its predecessor. As leaks suggested, the Vantage V3 has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 454 x 454 pixels. According to Polar, its new smartwatch is 14.5 mm thick and weighs 39 g, but without factoring in its bundled watch strap.
Supposedly, the Vantage V3 has 35% improved visibility compared to the Vantage V2. Moreover, Polar states that the former has a 129% faster CPU than the latter, as well as 32 GB of storage and a 41% larger battery capacity. To that end, the Vantage V3 is rated for up to 8 days of battery life in ‘standard mode’, or 53 hours with its dual-frequency GPS module and optical heart rate (OHR) sensor activated.
Furthermore, Polar has included ECG capabilities and a skin temperature sensor but only 5 ATM water resistance. The Vantage V3 is orderable in Sky Blue, Night Black and Sunrise Apricot, all for US$599.95. However, Polar will not begin fulfilling pre-orders until October 25.
