Our Verdict

The Razer Deathadder V3 is a sophisticated further development of the Deathadder V2. Its extremely lightweight design, combined with the precise sensor and high polling rate of 8,000 Hz, makes it the ideal choice for gamers who value speed and accuracy.

Although it does without some additional functions, the mouse impresses with its ergonomics and performance. With a current price of around 65 euros, it offers good value for money and is a strong option for gamers – especially those who focus on FPS games.

Price When Reviewed

65 €

The Razer Deathadder V3, a further development of the popular Deathadder series of gaming mice, comes to the test with a weight of just 59 grams and a revised design. This model promises a combination of lightness and performance for ambitious shooter gamers as well as fingertip and claw grip users. So, does it hold up to all of the hype? Read on to find out.

Looking for more options? Check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best gaming mice.

Razer Deathadder V3: Design and ergonomics

The Razer Deathadder V3 has an ergonomic design for right-handers that’s reminiscent of the popular Mamba series and adopts the chassis of the wireless Pro. Although it loses the rubberized edges and RGB lighting compared to its predecessor, it also boasts a significant weight reduction. At just 59 grams, it’s one of the lightest gaming mice on the market!

Ergonomisches DesignThe ergonomic design is suitable for fingertip and claw-grip gamers.

Friedrich Stiemer

The chassis is made of hard plastic and the mouse itself measures 128 x 68 x 44 mm. That means it’s ideal for gamers who play with fingertip or claw grip. High-quality PTFE feet ensure optimum gliding properties. However, you’ll have to do without RGB lighting on this model.

Razer Deathadder V3: Performance and technology

At the heart of the Razer Deathadder V3 is the powerful Razer Focus Pro optical sensor, which is based on the Pixart PAW 3950, known for its precision and reliability. The mouse achieves an impressive resolution of up to 30,000 CPI/DPI and is adjustable in five steps.

A significant upgrade is the increased USB polling rate of 8,000 Hz, which ensures an extremely fast and accurate response time. The main buttons are equipped with the third generation of Razer Optical Switches, which promise a lifespan of up to 90 million clicks. The mouse also has a total of six programmable buttons.

Razer Deathadder V3: Connectivity and software

The Razer Deathadder V3 uses a flexible, sheathed USB-C to USB-A cable for the connection. The mouse supports up to five software profiles, but with the restriction that only settings such as sensor resolution, USB sampling rate, and lift-off distance are saved. The button assignments are not stored in the internal memory, which is a pity!

Razer Deathadder V3: Performance

The Razer Deathadder V3 delivers an impressive performance in use. Its ergonomic design for right-handers ensures a high level of comfort even during long gaming sessions. The high-precision Pixart sensor delivers impeccable results both in everyday use and in fast-paced games. The high sampling rate of 8,000 Hz ensures an immediate response, which is particularly advantageous in FPS titles.

The Razer Optical Switches provide reliable and fast feedback, which has a positive impact on the gaming experience. Despite its light weight of just 59 grams, the mouse impresses with its stability and durability. The PTFE gliding feet guarantee gliding on different surfaces, which further improves handling and accuracy.
