Samsung has started selling the second-generation model of its Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. The Odyssey Ark 2023 shares almost all features with its predecessor though, save for three minor changes.
Samsung has now started selling the Odyssey Ark 2023, which it also calls the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen or G97NC. To recap, Samsung showcased the Odyssey Ark 2023 in August during GamesCom 2023. As we discussed at the time, the Odyssey Ark 2023 contains a few changes from last year’s model.
Thus, the original Odyssey Ark remains a solid alternative to its successor, particularly considering their US$1,200 price difference. According to Samsung, it has swapped one HDMI port for a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, although three HDMI ports remain. Additionally, the Odyssey Ark 2023 has a KVM switch for assigning USB peripherals to the monitor’s current input. Moreover, the new Odyssey Ark can show four display inputs simultaneously.
However, the second-generation model still has a 55-inch VA panel that outputs at 4K (3,840 x 2,160). Likewise, the Odyssey Ark delivers a 165 Hz peak refresh rate. The Odyssey Ark 2023 is orderable now in the US for US$2,999.99 or €3,459 in the Eurozone. As far as we can tell, Samsung is not offering any discounts for those pre-order the updated gaming monitor. For reference, the Odyssey Ark 2023 should start shipping on November 3 in the Eurozone and November 9 in the US.
