Sony Inzone Buds with low-latency dongle leak, Inzone H5 over-ear model surfaces too

Last year Sony introduced a new series of gaming headsets under the Inzone brand – the Sony Inzone H3, H7 and H9 over-ear headphones. Now the company is ready to add a TWS model to the series and plug the hole between H3 and H7.

The claim to fame of the Inzone headphones (the H7 and H9 at least) is that in addition to Bluetooth, they also come with a dongle for a proprietary, low-latency connection – games that require quick reaction times can’t tolerate even the best Bluetooth latency. All three models can also be plugged into a 3.5mm jack too (the H3 are wired-only).

The Sony Inzone Buds WF-G700 are skipping the wired option for obvious reasons, but they do keep the dongle – a small USB-C dongle that fits in their charging case. This means that it’s always available to plug into your phone, tablet, PC or console and drop the latency to just 30ms.

A Bluetooth connection can be active simultaneously too, in case your phone rings while you play or when you. In fact, the Inzone Buds use the new Bluetooth LE Audio powered by the L1 chip. The buds plus case should last up to 24 hours on Bluetooth (12h buds + 12h case) and up to 12 hours in low-latency mode with the dongle plugged in. The buds support fast charging too, so you can pop them in the case for 5 minutes and get 1 hour of battery life.

Anyway, these buds also support Active Noise Cancellation (something only available on the Inzone H9) as well as 360 Reality Audio and 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming for a more immersive experience. Additionally, there is AI-powered noise suppression for the microphones so in-game voice chat sounds clear even if you are in a noisy environment.

The Sony Inzone Buds WF-G700 have been spotted at a US retailer with a price of $200. They are also showing up on Amazon France, though there is no page for them yet.

You will also see the Sony Inzone H5 on Amazon too (no page for them either). These seem similar to the H7 in that they have Bluetooth/2.4GHz wireless connectivity but no ANC. They are much lighter at 260g (compared to 325g for the H7 and 335g for the H9) but have short battery life – 28h (vs. 40h for the H7 and 32h for the H9 with ANC off).

The H5 will cost $150 – for comparison, the H7 have an MSRP of $230 (selling for $130 now), the wired-only H3 are $100.
