On January 25th, a blogger revealed that Tesla plans to launch lane-level navigation in China and is expected to be updated online during the Spring Festival.
From the picture posted by the blogger, it can be seen that the current tested map version of Tesla supports functions such as countdown for traffic lights and lane-level navigation. The interface is relatively clean, and the prominent Baidu logo in the lower right corner confirms that this feature is developed in collaboration with Baidu Maps, Inc.
Tesla China just released a version 2023.44.32 a few days ago, which is said to be specifically developed by the Tesla China team for Chinese owners. It includes two map-related features:
During navigation, the names, distances, and availability of charging facilities for the next two highway service areas will be displayed in the top right corner of the map. You need to enable Control> Navigation> “Online Route Planning”. Advanced in-car entertainment services are required.
During navigation, when driving on road sections with speed limits, the vehicle’s average speed within that section and the distance to the end of the section will be displayed. You need to enable Control> Navigation> “Online Route Planning”. Advanced in-car entertainment services are required.
In addition, version 2023.44.32 also includes entertainment updates such as the new version of QQ Music, the new version of iQiyi, WeChat Mini Program updates, automatic reduction of media volume when reversing, Spring Festival themed light show, voice-controlled windows and headlights for vehicles.
