The Vivo X100 series is said to be focussed solely and exclusively on photography, and is set to make its debut in November 2023 according to rumours. Now, a new leak suggests that the top model of the series lineup, the Vivo X100 Pro+ is likely to feature a custom-made 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera,
Three phones are expected to be part of the lineup, which include the Vivo X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro+. Let’s take a closer look at the camera details that were leaked.
Vivo X100 Pro+ 200MP To Feature a Periscope Camera: Expected Details
In a recent Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station said that the 200-megapixel periscope camera of the upcoming smartphone has undergone meticulous customization. The camera is likely to surpass the optical performance of previous Sony sensors like the IMX890 and IMX866 models.
Another leak suggested that the sensor is going to be called the Samsung HPV, due to the collaboration between Vivo and Samsung.
Anticipated to be built upon the Samsung HP3, this compact camera sensor is projected to feature a sizable 1/1.4-inch dimension and offer native optical zoom capabilities of either 3x or 5x.
Sources leaking details have also indicated that the integration of advanced AI algorithms will empower users to enjoy an exceptional 10x optical zoom experience.
Vivo X100 and X100 Pro To Feature Upcoming Dimensity 9300 Chipset
Another highlight of the series is that the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are both likely to come equipped with the upcoming Dimensity 9300 chipset. This chipset is yet to debut.
The chipset is likely to be revealed in October or November.
The Vivo X100 Pro+, the phone with the ground breaking 200MP camera, is likely to have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
When it comes to the launch timeline, rumours suggest that the X100 Pro+ may be launched in the first quarter of 2024.
Nothing has been officially revealed about the upcoming smartphone by the company. It is also yet to be known whether all the three phones will be globally launched or not. Some phones by Vivo are launched only for the China market exclusively. Given that the top model of the X90 series, the X90 Pro+ wasn’t launched in markets outside of China, we’ll have to wait to see whether the X100 Pro+ is launched globally or not.
